anti candida dietIf you have a yeast infection, one thing you may not be aware of is that you can actually overcome it by simply changing your diet.  By avoiding certain foods and eating more of others, you can actually cure your yeast infection quickly by restoring your body’s natural balance.

Here is a Candida diet food list that will show you exactly what to eat to keep the Candida Albicans fungus (which is responsible for yeast infections) at bay.

Discover How Your Diet Is Key

Candida Diet Food List – What to Avoid

Sugar is the primary thing that yeast feeds on.  So, for the purposes of this diet, you much avoid sugar as much as possible.  This includes all foods that contain sugar such as:

High fructose corn syrup – This is a common substitute for sugar in many foods.  It is cheaper and basically the same as sugar.  You should probably also avoid this for other health reasons, but that is beyond the scope of this website.

Fruit sugars - If your yeast infection is not particularly bad, then it is probably okay to eat small amounts of fruit.  However, if you have a severe yeast infection, do yourself a favor and avoid fruit (which contains fructose–or fruit sugars).

Alcoholic drinks – These often contain sugar.  Beer is even worse since it not only contains sugar, but is also made from the fermentation of yeast.

Baked goods – These include foods such as muffins, cookies, and other pastries.  Not only are these baked goods made with yeast, but many of them (especially the tastier ones) tend to have lots of sugar in them as well.

Candida Diet Food List – What You CAN Eat

Yeast-free bread – Basically if it doesn’t use yeast to make it rise (and there’s no sugar), you can eat it.  One common alternative to yeast is spelt.

Gluten-free foods – A lot of people these days require a gluten-free diet, so you should be able to find these products fairly easily these days.  Millet, corn, and rice are common gluten-free alternatives that you can eat while fighting off a yeast infection.

Vegetables
– Vegetables are never bad for you.  It would probably be advised to keep away from mushrooms though (technically, these aren’t really a vegetable anyway though).

Garlic – Garlic has powerful anti-fungal properties that can help to kill off the fungus associated with a yeast infection.  Raw garlic is best since it ensures that more of the active agents are there and ready to help heal you.

Fish – It is best to avoid meat, but if you can’t live without it, opt for fish.  Fish is not treated with antibiotics the way that most other meat is.  Antibiotics may keep your immune system from fighting off the yeast infection, which won’t help you.

So, take this Candida diet food list with you to the grocery store next time you go shopping.  Avoid foods that are high is yeast and sugar and you should definitely be fine.  In a few days or weeks you will have recovered from your yeast infection and you’ll be back to enjoying life again.
